Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Information Security Engineer to join our team in a hybrid role based in Sandton. You will design, deploy and manage security solutions across complex IT environments, guiding incident response and threat mitigation.

You will lead deployments of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and EDR, perform security assessments, and develop robust security documentation. A strong background in security architecture and hands-on tool experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Information Security Engineering.
• Proven expertise in network security, system hardening, and security architecture.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-level security solutions including network, endpoint, and cloud security.
• Lead deployment and configuration of security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and EDR.
• Perform security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
• Develop and maintain security infrastructure documentation and procedures.
• Architect and oversee security measures for new systems and applications.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, providing technical leadership during investigations.
