Placements24 in George, Western Cape, seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC strategy. You will mentor a team, align development and operations, and champion automation and reliability across the engineering org.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in DevOps, strong cloud and container experience (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes), and leadership skills to scale our platform in a dynamic tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or a related field.
• 7+ years in DevOps or related IT infrastructure roles.
• 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong cloud and containerization experience (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure with high availability (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure uptime and reliability.
• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers and collaborate with development teams.
