Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their IT infrastructure team in Tembisa. You will drive automation, streamline CI/CD, and ensure scalable, reliable systems across cloud platforms.

You will collaborate with development and operations, implement IaC with Terraform/Ansible, and optimize pipelines. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in DevOps, strong scripting, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and a solid grasp of networking and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in IT/CS or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in a DevOps or systems engineering role.
• Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Hands-on with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Solid networking, Linux/Windows administration, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for applications.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code to provision cloud resources.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve scalability and reliability.
