Junior Quantity Surveyor - Durbanville, Western Cape

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a driven and meticulous Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Durbanville, Western Cape. The successful candidate will oversee project budgets, manage costs related to construction projects, and be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial estimates to final reports.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  2. Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects.
  3. Analyze project drawings and specifications for potential cost savings and risks.
  4. Collaborate with project teams to monitor progress and cost variances.
  5. Assist in preparing and evaluating variations and change orders.
  6. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for quotes and negotiations.
  7. Maintain accurate records of project costs and documentation.
  8. Participate in site visits and inspections as needed.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  2. 1-5 years of experience in the built environment.
  3. Proficiency in Candy CCS and Microsoft 365; experience with BuildSmart is a plus.
  4. Valid driver’s license, reliable transport, and willingness to travel to project sites.
  5. Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
  6. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes is desirable.
  8. Previous experience or internships in quantity surveying or construction is advantageous.
