Placements24 is partnering with a leading mining group in Rustenburg, North West, to recruit a Junior Legal Advisor. The role supports senior counsel on regulatory compliance, contract review, and dispute resolution within mining and environmental law.

You will gain hands-on experience in a corporate legal team, handling research, document drafting, and liaising with internal departments, with a hybrid work model offering flexibility in South Africa.

Qualifications

• LLB degree with a strong academic record.
• Admitted Attorney or Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa or candidate attorney nearing admission.
• Interest or coursework in mining, environmental, administrative or corporate law.
• Excellent legal research, analytical and writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal research databases.
• Willingness to work from Rustenburg, North West with hybrid flexibility.

Responsabilités

• Assist senior legal counsel in compliance with mining, environmental, and related legislation.
• Review and draft contracts, permits and regulatory filings under supervision.
• Conduct legal research and provide concise summaries and recommendations.
• Support management of environmental impact assessments and related processes.
• Assist in preparation of legal opinions and presentations for management.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and audits.
• Support disputes, claims, and litigation management related to mining operations.
• Maintain legal records and databases with accuracy.
