You will advise management and operations, assist with permit applications and regulatory submissions, monitor legislative changes, and liaise with government authorities to maintain the license to operate and promote sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent qualification.
• Admitted as Attorney or Advocate in South Africa.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant regulatory law experience, preferably in mining.
• Strong knowledge of South African mining and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on regulatory matters in mining.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety laws and mining licenses.
• Assist in permit applications and environmental impact assessments.
• Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies on behalf of the company.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise on impact on operations.
• Review contracts with regulatory components.
• Assist in managing regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
• Deliver training on regulatory compliance for relevant personnel.
• Conduct legal research on regulatory challenges.
