Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor with mining and environmental law expertise for our client based in Rustenburg. The role combines office collaboration with remote flexibility, focusing on regulatory compliance, EIAs, land use, and community relations within the South African mining sector.

You will advise on complex legal challenges, support permit applications, and navigate mining legislation, working both in a team and independently.

Formación

• Admitted Attorney (High Court) with minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Proven expertise in South African mining law and environmental legislation.
• Strong regulatory understanding for mining industry.
• Excellent analytical, research and drafting skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide expert legal advice on mining, environmental regulations and related legislation.
• Review EIAs and permit applications.
• Draft and negotiate land access, mineral rights and community engagement agreements.
• Ensure compliance with mining, environmental, health and safety laws.
• Represent the company in proceedings, negotiations and stakeholder engagements.
• Conduct legal research and provide timely opinions on complex issues.
• Develop and implement legal compliance programs and training.
