Placements24 is seeking a diligent Junior Accountant to manage the Accounts Payable function in Soweto, Gauteng. Based in our Soweto office, you will process vendor invoices, run weekly and monthly payments, reconcile statements, and support month-end closing while maintaining data integrity.

This entry-level role suits a recent graduate or someone with a few years' experience eager to develop in retail finance.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience in Accounts Payable is advantageous but not essential for driven candidates.
• Familiarity with Pastel or QuickBooks is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain the accounts payable ledger and ensure data integrity.
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.
• Generate accounts payable aging reports.
• Support the broader accounting team with ad-hoc tasks as needed.
