Job summary

Abbott is seeking a motivated recent graduate to join our BTS team as an IT Support Intern in Johannesburg. You will gain hands-on exposure to IT support, service delivery, Microsoft 365 administration, asset management, and IT operations within a leading global healthcare organization.

This internship offers practical experience across onboarding, account setup, ticket management, asset records, documentation, and support processes, with no prior work experience required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, ICT, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, N+, or S+ are advantageous.
• No prior work experience is required.
• Candidates with internship, learnership, practical training, or technical support exposure are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 issues.
• Log, monitor, and update support tickets using IT service management tools.
• Assist with configuring and deploying laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Support onboarding and offboarding, including equipment allocation and account setup.
• Assist with user account administration, password resets, and access requests.
• Maintain IT asset inventories and equipment records.
• Update IT documentation and knowledge articles.
