Job summary

Fullstop Recruitment Services is seeking a hands-on IT technician to provide on-site support for industrial mining IT/OT infrastructure. You will ensure reliability, availability and performance of IT systems, hardware, networks and IoT devices while adhering to SLAs and safety procedures.

The role requires practical experience in IT support, strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive attitude in a demanding operational environment. On-site work and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Matric with IT support or infrastructure experience.
• Strong hardware, networking and end-user computing knowledge.
• Knowledge of network connectivity, switches, routers and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
• Willingness to work on-site in an industrial environment and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, networks and end-user infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity and network-related faults.
• Assist with the maintenance and support of IoT devices and electronic security systems.
• Perform routine infrastructure inspections, testing and preventative maintenance; log, manage and resolve tickets within SLAs.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, service reports and troubleshooting records.
• Follow SOPs, site requirements and health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with technical teams, supervisors, clients and service providers to resolve issues.

Job Purpose

Provide hands-on IT and OT infrastructure support at an industrial mining operation, ensuring the reliability, availability and performance of IT systems, hardware, networks and connected devices. The successful candidate must be technically capable, safety-conscious and committed to resolving technical issues within agreed service-level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, networks and end-user infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity and network-related faults.
• Assist with the maintenance and support of IoT devices and electronic security systems.
• Perform routine infrastructure inspections, testing and preventative maintenance.Log, manage and resolve support tickets within agreed SLAs.

• Follow standard operating procedures, site requirements and health and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant IT support or infrastructure experience.
• Good understanding of computer hardware, networking and end-user computing.
• Knowledge of network connectivity, switches, routers and troubleshooting.

Advantageous Qualifications & Experience

• CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ (N+).
• Cisco CCNA or relevant networking certifications.
• Dell or HP hardware certifications.
• Microsoft MCP/MCSE or Windows Server experience.
• Fibre-optic networking knowledge.
• Experience supporting IoT devices, electronic security systems or industrial IT/OT infrastructure.
• Previous experience in mining, manufacturing, petrochemical or other industrial environments.
