Job summary

Liquid Thought Group is seeking a proactive IT Administrator to own local IT infrastructure, network, and system support from the Cape Town office. This role supports a hybrid workforce with reliable remote access and responsive troubleshooting.

You will manage security controls, backups, and vendor interactions while enabling smooth use of tools like Slack, Jira, GitHub, and Office 365. A strong communicator with hands-on IT skills is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of IT administration experience.
• Experience in a consultancy environment is advantageous.
• Solid working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server and Office 365.
• Able to embrace and support AI driven tools and workflows.
• Comfortable with collaboration and project management tools such as Slack, Monday.com, Jira or similar.
• Experience with VoIP and telephony systems is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and methodical problem solving.
• Excellent communication to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
• Willingness to support both in-office and remote colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary IT contact for all queries and issues across the business.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain office network equipment and Wi-Fi.
• Provide end-to-end hardware, software and connectivity support in office and remote contexts.
• Support hybrid staff with remote access setup, VPN and troubleshooting.
• Manage user access for core tools (Slack, TMetric, Monday.com, Jira, GitHub).
• Oversee backups, antivirus, endpoint protection and patch management.
• Enforce IT security protocols including access controls and password policies.
• Ensure disaster recovery readiness and assist business continuity planning.
• Coordinate with external vendors for support, licensing and procurement.
• Evaluate new IT solutions to improve efficiency and security, including AI tools.
• Create internal IT procedures documentation and provide staff training.
• Support reporting and data tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL where relevant.
