Qualifications

• Trade qualification or hands-on expertise in industrial refrigeration systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial refrigeration.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls.
• Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs) and HMIs.
• Familiarity with ammonia and other industrial refrigerants.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, repair, and maintain industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and Freon-based systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control issues within refrigeration plants.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance for optimal performance.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals to guide repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Manage refrigerant recovery, charging, and leak detection.
• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
• Maintain service logs, work orders, and inventory records.
• Collaborate with plant operators and maintenance teams for technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime and operational impact for clients.
• Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and inventory records for parts and supplies.
• Collaborate with plant operators and maintenance teams to provide technical support and training.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (e.g., F-Gas certification or equivalent) with a strong focus on industrial applications.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial refrigeration systems.
• In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and control systems.
• Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs) and HMI interfaces related to refrigeration.
• Familiarity with ammonia and other industrial refrigerants is essential.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex technical diagrams and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet service demands in Mossel Bay, Western Cape.
