Placements24 is seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Technician for field-based work in East London, Eastern Cape. You will install, service, and repair a range of commercial refrigeration systems including walk-ins, freezers, and display cases.

You’ll diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, perform preventive maintenance, and read technical manuals and schematics. The role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, knowledge of refrigeration principles, and a valid F-Gas certification.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician or in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, components, and systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues in refrigeration units.
• Must be based in or able to commute to East London, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration units, including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, and ice machines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system faults.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and prevent breakdowns.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Test systems after repair to confirm proper functioning and efficiency.
• Respond to emergency service calls promptly.
