About the Role

Our client, a provider of essential industrial services, is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Refrigeration Technician to join their team serving clients in and around Upington, Northern Cape. This role is critical for the installation, maintenance, and repair of large-scale industrial refrigeration systems used in food processing, cold storage, and manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, efficiency, and safety of these complex systems, which are vital to our clients' operations. This is a field-based position requiring extensive travel to various industrial sites within the region. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of industrial refrigeration principles, a strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent diagnostic skills. Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system issues, identifying root causes of malfunctions.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
• Service and repair a variety of refrigerants and associated piping.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Refrigeration Technician.
• Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration cycles, components, and refrigerants.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools relevant to refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations related to refrigeration.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field service role.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Relevant trade qualification or certification in refrigeration and air conditioning.
