Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our client in Polokwane to maintain and repair production machinery on-site. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and minimize downtime to keep the plant running smoothly.

The role requires reading blueprints and manuals, keeping accurate maintenance logs, and adhering to safety policies. You will work with conveyors, pumps, motors, and control panels, and may participate in installations

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Maintenance Technician in manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical diagrams and manuals.
• Experience with production machinery incl. conveyors, pumps, motors, control panels.
• Willingness to work shifts and be based in Polokwane.
• Relevant technical qualification (NTC, Trade Certificate) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Respond promptly to malfunctions and stoppages.
• Read and interpret blueprints and manuals.
• Maintain maintenance logs and work orders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Contribute to continuous maintenance process improvements.
• Keep a clean, organized work area.
