Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our client in Mahikeng, North West, ZA. The role covers preventive maintenance and reactive repairs to keep plant machinery reliable and safe. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, plus the ability to read drawings, are essential for success.

You will join a hands-on operations team, perform inspections, maintain records, and support improvements while ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance (e.g., N3 or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, and processing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols.
• Good problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends.
• Basic computer literacy for record‑keeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various plant machinery.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance operations.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate effectively with production staff and other maintenance team members.
