Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Machinery Maintenance Technician for our client’s production facility in Nelspruit (Mbombela). This hands-on, on-site role focuses on preventive maintenance, quick repairs and diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults to minimize downtime.

You will work with a skilled production team, read manuals and schematics, and apply hydraulic/pneumatic knowledge. A trade qualification or equivalent experience is required, with at least 3 years in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance.
• 3+ years of proven maintenance experience on industrial machinery in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical knowledge including hydraulics, pneumatics and power transmission.
• Basic reading of manuals, schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, including lubrication, adjustments and component checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints and schematics to understand machinery functions.
• Utilize hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes and minimize downtime.
• Document maintenance and repair activities in CMMS.
