Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer for a mining services company in Polokwane, Limpopo, to lead productivity improvements and enhance operational efficiency. You will analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement sustainable solutions in collaboration with site teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and at least six years’ experience, with lean methods (VSM, 5S, Kaizen) and strong data interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on productivity and efficiency improvements in operational environments.
• Proven experience in implementing lean methodologies (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational data effectively.
• Understanding of safety protocols and regulations relevant to the mining industry in Polokwane.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analyses of mining operations to identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency gains.
• Develop and implement strategies based on lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Design and optimize workflows, material handling systems, and equipment utilization.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with site management and operational staff to implement process improvements.
• Develop standardized work procedures and training materials for operational teams.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to address operational challenges.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses for proposed efficiency improvements.
• Stay current with industry best practices and new technologies in mining operations optimization.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all improvement initiatives.
