Placements24 is seeking an Operations Efficiency Specialist in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on boosting productivity, reducing waste, and optimizing workflows across manufacturing environments.

The ideal candidate has an Industrial Engineering background, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to implementing best practices. You will work with multiple departments to identify inefficiencies, develop improvement plans, and monitor KPI performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 1-4 years of experience in industrial engineering or operations efficiency roles.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and process mapping.
• Understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work on-site in Soweto and adapt to a hybrid work model.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing operational processes to identify efficiency improvements.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste, optimize resource utilization, and enhance productivity.
• Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and bottleneck identification.
• Support the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• Collaborate with operational teams to develop and implement process improvements.
• Monitor KPIs related to operational efficiency and provide regular reports.
• Assist in the development and documentation of SOPs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
