Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer for our mining client in Rustenburg, North West. The role focuses on optimizing processes, improving productivity, and reducing costs through IE principles.

The position requires on-site presence with hybrid remote work for analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in process optimization, proficiency with simulation tools (AnyLogic, Arena), and strong data analytics, Lean Six Sigma experience, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in industrial engineering, process optimization, and operations management.
• Experience in mining or heavy industry preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma experience and data-driven improvement.

Responsibilities

• Analyze mining operations to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Develop optimized mine planning and production scheduling strategies.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to reduce waste and boost efficiency.
• Use simulation/modeling tools to test proposed improvements.
• Collaborate with management and staff to adopt new methods.
• Improve equipment utilization, material flow, and workforce allocation.
• Develop and track KPIs to measure improvement.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to senior management.
• Ensure safety and environmental standards are met.
• Contribute to long-term operational strategies for the Rustenburg site.
