Job summary

Placements24 in Bloemfontein is seeking an Industrial Engineer to improve operational efficiency within our on-site production facility. You will analyze processes, apply Lean Manufacturing, conduct time and motion studies, and collaborate with production teams to implement changes that boost productivity and reduce waste.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, 2+ years in manufacturing, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
2+ years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
Good understanding of production processes and systems.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Develop and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, VSM) to optimize workflows.
Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard operating procedures.
Work with production teams to implement process changes and ensure buy-in.
Monitor KPIs related to efficiency and output.
Assist in plant layout design and material flow optimization.
Identify opportunities for waste reduction and implement corrective actions.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Prepare reports on project progress and results.
