Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer for its Gauteng manufacturing operations. The role focuses on optimizing production lines, improving material flow, and implementing robust operational strategies in a hands-on setting with production and management teams in Tembisa.

The candidate will analyze processes, reduce bottlenecks, and develop data-driven solutions to boost productivity and reduce costs while maintaining quality and competitive edge in the market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing/production environments.
• Solid understanding of lean principles, Kaizen and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production line performance and identify inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement optimized production schedules and workflows.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost–benefit analyses for process changes and upgrades.
• Design and implement material handling systems for smooth movement of goods.
• Collaborate with quality control to integrate checks and reduce defects.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for production processes and ensure adherence.
• Use simulation software to model improvements before implementation.
• Train staff on new processes and best practices.
• Monitor KPIs and generate reports for management.
• Coordinate with supply chain to align planning with inventory and demand.
