Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer specializing in facilities and layout design to join our Randburg team. You will optimize plant layouts, improve material flow, and ensure efficient use of space and resources within our operations.

Collaborating with engineering, operations and maintenance, you will develop layout plans, P&IDs and process flow diagrams using CAD software, while applying lean, ergonomics and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering focused on facility layout and design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout development.
• Knowledge of material handling systems, ergonomics, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to spatial optimization.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement optimal facility layouts and material flow paths to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Analyze current workflows and space utilization to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
• Specify requirements for material handling equipment and automation solutions.
• Ensure all facility designs comply with safety regulations and ergonomic best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on facility projects.
• Develop layout plans, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams using CAD software.
