Job summary

DP World is seeking an Import Freight Services professional in South Africa to manage shipment files end-to-end, ensure accurate documentation, and coordinate with clients and international offices.

You will gather cargo details, verify documents in Cargowise, and monitor bookings to drive timely handovers and invoicing while maintaining compliance with Incoterms and customs requirements.

Qualifications

• Matric is a baseline requirement.
• NCFF (NQF ¾) is preferred; FIATA Diploma advantageous.
• Logistics or related degree/diploma advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Open shipment files, allocate a file number, and obtain landside/transport rates and third-party costs.
• Ensure all shipment documents are collected and provided to clearing, notify consignee, and update status reports.
• Gather cargo/origin information and finalise shipping method with client and international offices.
• Monitor cargo arrivals with bookings to facilitate turnarounds and document handover.
• Inform clients of arrivals and support Controllers with data in Cargowise.
• Assist in closeout from indent to POD and invoice payment.
• Provide admin support to Ocean Freight Import team to meet client requirements.
• Verify BL/HBL against invoice and packing list before submitting to Customs clearing.
• Develop strong relationships with carriers, agents and clients to build trust.
• Ensure compliance with DP World regulations and accurate monthly accruals.
