Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Case Manager in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves field-based case management for children and families, coordinating with schools, healthcare providers, and statutory bodies to ensure safety and access to resources.

The ideal candidate will have a Social Work or related degree, SACSSP registration, and at least 3 years in child welfare or case management. A valid driver’s license and local knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field.
• Registration with SACSSP is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in child welfare or similar case management.
• Experience conducting child protection assessments and handling complex cases.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of child welfare concerns and risk evaluations.
• Develop individualized service plans for reunification, stabilization, and permanency.
• Provide direct case management including home visits, counseling, and crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with foster parents, families, guardians, and professionals.
• Liaise with Children’s Court, social services, and other agencies.
• Maintain confidential case records per legal and organizational standards.
• Advocate for the needs of children and families within various systems.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
• Provide psycho-education and parenting support.
• Stay updated on relevant legislation and best practices.
