Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Social Worker specializing in Child and Youth Services to join our team in Cape Town. The role blends remote client engagement with essential in-person visits to support vulnerable children and youths.

You will conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, provide case management, counseling and advocacy, and coordinate with families, schools and agencies. SACSSP registration and a Bachelors in Social Work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in child protection or youth services.
• Proficiency in case management software and virtual communication tools.
• Strong knowledge of South African child welfare legislation and policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and youth to identify risks and needs.
• Develop and implement evidence-based intervention and support plans.
• Provide case management, counseling, and advocacy services, both remotely and in person.
• Liaise with families, foster parents, schools, and other stakeholders to coordinate care.
• Prepare detailed reports for court proceedings, child protection services, and other formal bodies.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide crisis intervention as required.
