Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Resort Events Coordinator to join a stunning coastal resort in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role blends planning, organization, and execution of weddings, corporate events, and resort activities, with collaboration across departments to ensure flawless delivery.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of event experience in hospitality, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning or coordination, preferably within a resort or hotel setting.
• Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of the Hospitality & Tourism event landscape.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as event schedules require.
• A relevant qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, or Event Management is a plus.
• Based in or able to commute to Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute all types of events held at the resort, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Liaise with clients from initial inquiry through to event completion, providing expert advice and support.
• Develop event proposals, budgets, and timelines.
• Coordinate with F&B, banqueting, AV, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Manage vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality service.
• Oversee on-site event logistics, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Market resort event services to potential clients.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with event industry trends and best practices.
