Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Banqueting and Events Coordinator for a hybrid role at our Richards Bay venue in KwaZulu-Natal. You will plan and execute weddings, corporate events, and private functions, coordinating with clients and internal teams to deliver flawless experiences.

You will manage timelines, budgets, and supplier communications, while ensuring top-quality service and guest satisfaction throughout every stage of an event.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Events Coordinator or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Preferably with banqueting experience.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of banqueting and event planning from initial client inquiry to post-event follow-up.
• Develop detailed event proposals, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with clients.
• Liaise with suppliers, caterers, AV technicians, and entertainment providers to ensure seamless event execution.
• Manage event schedules, room bookings, and staffing requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and client meetings to showcase venue capabilities.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring adherence to client specifications.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and on-site vendors during events.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during events.
• Maintain accurate records of client communications, contracts, and event details.
• Assist in developing marketing materials and promotional activities for events.
