Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Resort & Events Manager for our client, a premier resort in the Rustenburg region. The role combines resort operations oversight with strategic event planning, from weddings to large conferences, ensuring guest satisfaction and revenue through bookings.

This hybrid position requires strong leadership, budgeting, vendor management, and exceptional client-facing skills. On-site presence is required for key operations while administrative tasks may be handled

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in resort management and/or event planning with a supervisory role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing both operational aspects of a resort and the intricacies of event execution.
• Excellent understanding of event planning processes, budgeting, and contract negotiation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of resort operations, including accommodation, leisure facilities, and guest services.
• Plan, organize, and execute weddings, conferences, corporate retreats, and social functions.
• Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability and adherence to financial targets.
• Liaise with clients to understand their event needs, providing tailored solutions and ensuring flawless execution.
• Supervise and train resort and event staff, fostering a culture of service excellence and teamwork.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote resort facilities and event packages.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations for all resort operations and events.
• Manage vendor relationships, including caterers, decorators, and entertainment providers.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Oversee the maintenance and presentation of resort facilities to ensure a welcoming and appealing environment.
