Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor for a Richards Bay-based role with hybrid work combining on-site assessments and remote data analysis. You will manage costs, contracts, tendering, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, negotiation ability, and a solid understanding of construction economics and contractual frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and standard contract forms (FIDIC).

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
• Manage the tendering process, evaluate bids and negotiate with subcontractors.
• Administer contracts, ensure compliance, and manage variations.
• Monitor expenditures, track costs against budget, and provide financial reports.
• Conduct site visits for verification and payment certificates.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage financial risks.
