Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Purchasing Coordinator for our client in Upington, Northern Cape. This hybrid role supports logistics and supply chain operations, coordinating purchasing activities, supplier communications, and PO processing to ensure timely material availability.

The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication, detailed procurement knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced agricultural tech environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate/diploma in SCM or related field is advantageous.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or logistics coordination role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems or purchasing software.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders for goods and services.
• Coordinate with suppliers to confirm orders, track delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized purchasing records, vendor information, and contract details.
• Assist in sourcing materials and services, including quotes and price comparisons.
• Liaise with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and provide status updates.
• Support inventory management by ensuring timely replenishment of stock.
• Communicate effectively with logistics teams regarding inbound shipments and delivery requirements.
• Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and procedures; assist in reports on supplier performance.
