Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mine Management, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mine operations management, with substantial mining experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large operational teams.
• In-depth knowledge of open-pit and/or underground mining methods and technologies.
• Strong understanding of mine planning, production scheduling and cost control principles.
• Proficiency in mining software and ERP systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning abilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
• Strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all day-to-day mining operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production targets are met.
• Develop and implement operational strategies and plans to optimize resource utilization and maximize profitability.
• Oversee the management of personnel, including recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering a positive work culture.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies across all operational areas in Rustenburg, North West.
• Monitor KPIs, analyze operational data, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and geology departments to ensure seamless integration of activities.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Lead incident investigations and implement preventative measures to enhance safety protocols.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice sharing within the operations team.
