Placements24 is seeking a Regional Operations Lead to oversee mining operations across multiple sites in the Rustenburg region. The role requires hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and a focus on safety and productivity.

You will manage site managers, drive improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance while optimizing budgets and resources. Extensive travel within the region is expected, with a strong emphasis on safety culture and operational integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Experience managing multiple sites and diverse operational teams.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and cost saving measures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all operational activities within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage and lead site managers and operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, environmental policies, and industry best practices.
• Monitor operational performance, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to meet targets.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation across operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements and technological advancements to enhance productivity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and local stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site visits and operational assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Mentor and develop operational staff, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
