Placements24, on behalf of our client near Benoni, seeks a proactive Mining Engineer focused on planning and design to optimize open-pit and underground mine plans in a hybrid work environment.

You will collaborate with geological and operations teams, utilize Deswik or Vulcan, and ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, with opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of geological principles, rock mechanics, and surveying.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-term and long-term mine plans using Deswik or Vulcan.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations.
• Design mine layouts, production schedules, and ventilation systems.
• Analyze geological and geotechnical data to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with operations to implement plans and monitor performance.
• Ensure plans comply with safety and regulatory standards.
