Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Helpdesk Technician for a Queenstown-based role with a hybrid work setup. You will deliver first-line IT support to internal users and customers, diagnosing hardware and software issues while ensuring smooth operation of IT services.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, IT certification (CompTIA A+) and proven helpdesk experience, with strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and networking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+) desirable
• Proven experience in an IT helpdesk or technical support role
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS), software applications, and basic networking
• Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support to users via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
• Assist users with password resets, account management, and application troubleshooting.
• Document all support requests, actions taken, and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
