Placements24 in Welkom is seeking a detail-oriented Event Coordinator to manage logistics and execution of catering events across the Free State. You will be the primary client contact, coordinating from inquiry to final delivery, liaising with kitchen and service teams, managing budgets, and ensuring a seamless, high‑quality event experience for every client.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in event planning, coordination, or a similar role, preferably within catering/hospitality.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of building rapport with clients and teams.
• Proficiency in event management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to stay calm and solve problems under pressure.
• Customer-centric approach with commitment to high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Liaise directly with clients to understand event requirements, budgets, and preferences.
• Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, staffing schedules, menu selections, and logistics.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure flawless execution on event day.
• Manage event budgets, track expenses, and process invoices.
• Oversee on-site event setup and execution, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and venue partners.
