Job summary

WSP in Africa is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) in Midrand to strengthen our HVAC design team. The ideal candidate will hold a BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with at least 3 years in building services and be proficient in HVAC design, BIM, and project delivery.

The role covers technical design, client liaison, project management, and site supervision within a diverse engineering environment. A strong grasp of local standards and BIM tools is essential.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years post-graduation experience in building services.
• Experience in HVAC design, construction monitoring and related sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design and calculations for projects.
• Manage projects from inception to closeout with guidance when needed.
• Prepare tender documentation and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to deliver projects.
• Ensure QA/QC and provide site supervision where required.
• Apply SANS/BS/ASHRAE standards and BIM workflows.
