Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HRM, Industrial Psychology, Law, or related field.
• 8–10 years HR experience with 5+ years in managerial/senior role in mining or heavy industry.
• Extensive industrial relations, negotiation, dispute resolution experience.
• Strong knowledge of SA labor law incl. mining-specific legislation.
• Ability to manage complex HR operations in remote environments.
• Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience with HRIS and HR reporting tools.
• Willingness to travel to operational sites.
• Residence in or relocation to Mahikeng area or North West province.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent mining services company operating in the North West province, is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to oversee operations and ensure strict compliance with all labor laws and regulations. This senior role is critical for managing the full spectrum of HR functions within a demanding operational environment, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial relations, extensive knowledge of mining sector labor laws, and a proven ability to lead and develop an HR team. You will be instrumental in fostering a safe, productive, and compliant work environment for all employees in the challenging yet rewarding setting of Mahikeng and surrounding operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's operational objectives and compliance requirements.
• Oversee all aspects of employee relations, including dispute resolution, disciplinary processes, and grievance handling.
• Manage the full recruitment and selection process for operational roles, ensuring timely placement of skilled personnel.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior HR role within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Extensive experience in industrial relations, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor law, including specific mining sector legislation.
• Proven ability to manage complex HR operations in remote or challenging environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with HRIS and HR reporting tools.
• Ability to travel to various operational sites as required.
• Reside in or be willing to relocate to the Mahikeng area or surrounding North West province.
• A track record of successfully driving compliance and operational efficiency.
