Job summary

Elchemie is seeking a supervisory leader for housekeeping and cleaning services in Gauteng. You will direct floor teams across rotating shifts, coordinate rosters, and train staff on-site to uphold hotel-grade hygiene and turnaround standards.

You will collaborate with the Executive Housekeeper and site management, inspect rooms, manage client queries, and ensure SLA compliance. Flexible shifts, including nights and holidays, are required, with reliable transport for East Rand handovers.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years supervisory/team-lead experience strictly within Housekeeping and Cleaning Services (Hotel, Resort, Lodge, or Hospitality).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to lead floor staff and liaise with hotel stakeholders.
• Good working knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards, cleaning equipment, chemical handling, and room inspections.
• Willingness to work flexible shift rosters including night shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transport for shift handovers in the East Rand.
• Matric pass; tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Operations, or Facilities Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Direct, motivate, and supervise site cleaning teams and room attendants across rotating shifts.
• Coordinate daily shift rosters, manage attendance, and conduct on-the-floor operational training.
• Inspect floors and rooms to ensure hotel-grade hygiene, quality, and turnaround standards.
• Support the Contract Manager with daily client queries, SLA compliance, and service delivery adjustments.
• Monitor cleaning chemical usage, issue site consumables, audit equipment maintenance, and keep inventory records.
• Ensure strict adherence to OHS standards, color-coding sanitation protocols, and chemical safety.
