Job summary

Mayfly Agri in Gauteng seeks an experienced E-commerce Lead to steer the online business, manage platform implementations, and drive growth across sales and marketing channels.

You will lead planning, budgeting and cross-functional collaboration with logistics, IT and external partners to optimise performance and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in E-commerce, Digital Marketing, Business Management, Information Systems, Commerce or related field.
• Certifications in E-commerce, Digital Marketing or Project Management are advantageous.
• 3–5+ years’ experience in E-commerce, Digital Commerce or Online Retail.
• Proven experience launching and scaling an e-commerce business or platform.
• Experience managing e-commerce projects from implementation to operation.
• Experience overseeing warehouse, fulfilment and logistics operations.
• Strong understanding of Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
• Experience managing digital marketing budgets and performance campaigns.
• Prior leadership and people management experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the overall e-commerce strategy and growth plan.
• Lead platform implementation from planning to launch.
• Manage e-commerce projects, budgets, timelines, integrations and partners.
• Oversee warehouse, fulfilment, stock, returns and logistics processes.
• Drive online sales, profitability, customer acquisition and performance.
• Oversee website functionality, product catalogues, pricing and merchandising.
• Lead digital marketing activities including SEO, Google Ads, social media and email.
• Analyse sales and customer data to identify growth opportunities.
• Recruit, lead and develop the e-commerce team.
• Manage technology vendors and ERP/payments integrations.
• Handle customer escalations and cross-functional communication.
• Continuously optimise operations for growth and efficiency.

• Analysing sales, customer behaviour, conversion rates, and performance data to identify growth opportunities.
• Recruiting, leading, and developing the e-commerce team.
• Managing technology vendors and integrations with ERP, payment, warehouse, and logistics systems.
• Handling customer escalations and cross-functional stakeholder communication.
