Job summary

Blacksmith Agency runs PPC and SEO for clients across multifamily, B2B and technical verticals. As Digital Marketing Director you lead that department, with the PPC strategist and the SEO strategist reporting to you.

This is a management seat, not a senior individual contributor role. You will set channel strategy and budget allocation as accounts scale, oversee audits and reporting, and be the client-facing owner when performance matters.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads.
• Experience turning around underperforming accounts with measurable results.
• Comfortable being the client-facing owner when an account is underperforming.
• Agency experience carrying many accounts at once.

Responsibilities

• Own the PPC and SEO functions and set performance standards.
• Define what good audits look like and ensure reports meet those standards.
• Oversee client results and ensure reporting honesty and accuracy.
• Lead escalation when an account is at risk and direct the responsible strategist.
• Set channel strategy and budget allocation as accounts scale.
• Articulate credible delivery to sales before a deal closes.
• Lead hiring for the department and conduct first-round interviews.
