Placements24 is seeking an experienced Head Lifeguard Supervisor for a popular family resort in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The role leads a lifeguard team, enforces water safety protocols, and coordinates training and drills to ensure guest safety around pools and beach areas.

Qualifications

Our client, a popular family resort in Port Elizabeth , is seeking an experienced and vigilant Head Lifeguard Supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of all guests utilizing their aquatic facilities. This critical role involves leading a team of lifeguards, implementing rigorous safety protocols, and maintaining a vigilant presence around the pools and beach areas. You will be responsible for training new lifeguards, conducting regular safety drills, and responding effectively to any emergencies. The ideal candidate is highly responsible, possesses strong leadership skills, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of water safety in a bustling tourist destination.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage a team of lifeguards, ensuring adequate staffing levels and effective deployment. Develop and enforce comprehensive water safety policies and procedures for all aquatic areas. Conduct regular training sessions, in-service training, and skill assessments for lifeguards. Respond promptly and effectively to all emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating with external emergency services. Maintain accurate records of incidents, patrols, and staff performance, and conduct regular facility inspections for safety hazards.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a lifeguard, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization (e.g., ILS, RLSS) is mandatory. Current First Aid and CPR certifications are required. Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
