Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and experienced Head Lifeguard to lead the beach safety operations in the Richards Bay area. You will manage a team of lifeguards, implement robust safety protocols, and coordinate emergency responses along the coastline to safeguard visitors and locals.

This role requires current lifeguard certification, Advanced First Aid and CPR, and several years in supervision. You will develop safety policies, train staff, perform inspections, and engage in community

Formación

• Current and valid Lifeguard certification from a recognized authority (e.g., SLS, RLSS).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a lifeguard, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Certification in Advanced First Aid and CPR (Level 3 or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Strong swimming ability and physical fitness, capable of performing rescues in open water conditions.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Knowledge of coastal safety principles, rip current identification, and emergency first aid procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Manage, train, and schedule a team of lifeguards to ensure adequate coverage and optimal performance during operational hours.
• Develop, implement, and enforce water safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans for the beach areas.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of beach facilities, equipment, and signage, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations, providing immediate first aid and rescue services as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, rescues, injuries, and daily operations.
• Promote water safety awareness among beachgoers through education and public outreach initiatives.
