Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on Hardware Technician to join our team in George, Western Cape. You will perform routine hardware service and remote diagnostics under supervision, while maintaining the CMDB and ensuring SLA compliance.

The role requires local travel, a valid driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle. Applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience with hardware solutions in a retail environment, and relevant certifications such as CompTIA or MCSA/MCSE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience attending to and installing hardware solutions within the Retail Environment.
• Certifications: CompTIA, MCSA/MCSE, Linux LPIC 1 or 2, Certified Linux Administrator, or CompTIA Linux+
• Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle; willingness to travel locally
• NQF 4: Grade 12; National Diploma listed under minimum qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide routine hardware service and remote diagnostic activities under close supervision
• Maintain the configuration management system and CMDB
• Operate and control installed hardware and software
• Execute tasks and procedures according to agreed service levels and requirements
• Install or remove hardware and software according to supplied instructions, tools, plans, and standards
• Track hardware and software items against installation or removal instructions
• Support fellow technicians telephonically using remote tools and customer software packages such as Remedy
• Drive SLA compliance
