Job summary

Craven Cottage CC in Cape Town seeks an experienced Concierge to welcome guests, manage the front desk, and coordinate requests with theatre, tours and dining partners.

You will supervise bell staff, handle messages, maintain the Concierge Desk, and ensure health and safety compliance while delivering high standard service.

Applicants should have Grade 12 and a formal hospitality qualification, plus 2–3 years in a similar hotel role and a valid Driver’s License with PDP.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bell staff to ensure smooth guest arrivals and departures, proper luggage handling, and follow-up on guest requests.
• Provide accurate information to guests courteously and fulfill reasonable requests and requirements.
• Take messages for in-house or arriving guests with accuracy and proper follow-up.
• Handle mail, packages and faxes efficiently.
• Stay informed on local activities and build contacts to assist guests with information, tickets and reservations.
• Recite hotel services, hours, personnel and policies to guests.
• Maintain the Concierge Desk and storage areas in order and support front desk and lobby operations.
• Assist in reconciling charges from the Concierge Desk (limousines, car rentals, flowers, tours).
• Collaborate with Valet Parking to ensure smooth handling of guest vehicles.
• Work with bell attendants to ensure smooth luggage handling and guest requests.
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in dealings with guests, employees and external contacts.
• Provide assistance to guests for reservations, tours and flight check-ins.
