Job description

A leading corporate and investment banking environment is seeking an experienced Global Markets Data Analyst to support front office teams across financial products, credit investments, equities, and treasury sales and structuring. This role is positioned within a high-performing global markets data team and is focused on building advanced analytics, data products, and actionable insights that directly support traders and business heads.

The primary objective of this role is to transition the environment from traditional BI reporting towards advanced analytics, data science, and AI-driven insights supporting revenue, risk, and client-focused decision-making. The position is end-to-end and suits a senior, hands‑on analyst who can manage data products, stakeholder expectations, and complex data environments independently.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full data lifecycle: sourcing, cleaning, modelling, and delivering insights from an enterprise data warehouse and Data Vault 2.0 environment
• Manage and develop dedicated data marts and analytical models for global markets business areas.
• Engage directly with traders, structurers, and front office stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritise initiatives, and translate business needs into analytical solutions
• Build and maintain BI outputs (dashboards, reports) while progressively moving towards machine learning and AI use cases (e.g. client 360, predictive analytics, revenue-driving insights).
• Utilise tools such as SQL, Python, Azure ML, Control‑M and stored procedures to support robust data pipelines and analytics workflows.
• Deliver proactive client and trading insights through channels such as email and collaboration tools, moving beyond static dashboards to push‑based, actionable intelligence.
• Support AI initiatives, including bots and workflow automation, in collaboration with specialised AI engineers, while remaining curious and open to upskilling in new technologies.
• Operate within a federated analyst model, coordinating with cloud engineering and other embedded analysts while owning outcomes within assigned business pillars.

Candidate profile

• 3–4 years’ experience in global markets, CIB, or consulting with strong exposure to investment banking products and trading environments.
• Advanced SQL proficiency (non‑negotiable), including complex queries, performance optimisation, and work with large, complex data sets.
• Strong Python skills for analytics and introductory to intermediate machine learning; able to implement models rather than only conceptualise them.
• Experience spanning BI analytics and data science, comfortable working across engineering‑heavy tasks, modelling, and reporting.
• Exposure to Data Vault 2.0 or similar enterprise data warehousing methodologies is highly advantageous in a complex financial data environment.
• Proven track record engaging demanding business stakeholders, managing multiple priorities, and delivering under pressure in a fast‑paced markets context.
• Strong communication, consulting‑style stakeholder management, and the confidence to challenge, question, and influence experienced front office users.
• High learning agility, curiosity, and comfort with continual upskilling, especially in AI, ML, and new data platforms.
