PBT Group, Data Specialists, is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to turn complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making. You will handle large datasets, write advanced SQL, and create impactful data visualisations and statistical analyses.
You'll develop reports, dashboards and KPIs using Power BI or Tableau, use Python or R for analytics, and mentor junior analysts while exploring GenAI tools to boost productivity.
PBT Group is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our data team and help turn complex data into meaningful insights that support business and strategic decision-making.
This role is ideal for a strong Data Analyst with experience working with large datasets, advanced SQL, data visualisation and statistical analysis, preferably within financial services or banking. You’ll work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, identify opportunities and deliver data-driven solutions that create measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, opportunities and business insights.
Translate business questions and requirements into data-driven solutions.
Write and optimise advanced SQL queries and work with large datasets.
Develop reports, dashboards, KPIs, forecasting and scenario analysis using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Use Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, visualisation and statistical modelling.
Apply statistical and predictive analytics techniques to support business decision-making.
Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and other technical teams to understand data flows and requirements.
Engage with business stakeholders and clearly communicate findings, insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences.
Identify data quality issues and opportunities to improve data processes and analytical solutions.
Contribute to the development of data marts and analytical data assets.
Take ownership of analytical projects from planning through to delivery.
Mentor and support junior Data Analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices.
Explore and apply GenAI and modern analytical tools to improve productivity and analytical processes.
Bachelor's or Honours degree in Data, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related technical field.
Proven experience as a Data Analyst / BI Analyst / Analytics Specialist.
Significant experience working within financial services or banking will be highly advantageous.
Strong experience working with advanced SQL and large datasets.
Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
Strong experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar visualisation tools.
Solid understanding of statistics, data modelling and predictive analytics.
Advanced Excel skills, including VBA/macros, would be advantageous.
Experience presenting data insights and recommendations to senior and non-technical stakeholders.
