Job summary

bolttech in Midrand is seeking an IT Support professional to provide first and second line support to users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring minimal business disruption. You will manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and 365 environments, document configurations, and collaborate with global teams to improve systems, security, and user experience.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Exchange Online administration.
• Experience in administering and supporting Windows Server environments.
• Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies.
• Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and Wi‑Fi.
• Experience in troubleshooting network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless networks, and firewall solutions.
• Basic knowledge of firewall administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, server, and user account issues.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration and query management.
• Experience with ticketing and ITSM tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Very good command of written and spoken English.
• Relevant Microsoft or other IT certifications will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user IT support by diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network and system-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Maintain professional communication with end users, providing timely updates, managing expectations, and escalating issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
• Administer, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and other network components, to ensure availability, security, and optimal performance.
• Install, configure, update, and support software applications on end-user devices while ensuring compliance with company standards, security policies, and licensing requirements.
• Create, maintain, and update technical and infrastructure documentation, including system configurations, procedures, network diagrams, and operational guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues, implement improvements, and support infrastructure and business-related IT initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and service optimization, contributing to the continuous enhancement of IT support services and user experience.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned by management, supporting departmental objectives and responding to evolving business needs.
