Placements24 is recruiting a visionary Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to steer the company’s global cybersecurity agenda. This senior role combines office presence in Kimberley, Northern Cape with flexible remote work, delivering enterprise-wide security strategies, risk management, and regulatory compliance across a large industrial organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership track record, mastery of ISO/NIST frameworks, and the ability to translate business goals

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business Administration, or related field; PhD is a plus.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 7 years in a C-level or senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing enterprise-wide security strategies in complex organizations.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST), risk management, governance, and compliance.
• Experience managing large budgets and leading diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive information security program that protects the company’s data and technology assets.
• Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
• Oversee risk management, incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual security requirements.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing information security team, fostering a culture of security excellence.
• Manage the information security budget and vendor relationships effectively.
• Advise the board of directors and executive leadership on cybersecurity risks and strategies.
• Represent the company in industry forums and engage with external stakeholders on security matters.
• Drive innovation in security technologies and practices to stay ahead of emerging threats.
• Oversee security awareness training programs for all employees.
