Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to lead security operations in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and managing the company’s information security program, ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.

The ideal candidate will drive security strategy, risk management and compliance across the organization, with a strong leadership presence in a hybrid work setting in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in information security management.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing information security programs in a corporate environment.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF), risk management principles and compliance (POPIA, GDPR).
• Strong leadership, team management and project management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Proficiency with various security technologies and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CISA are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Oversee cybersecurity strategy including threat management, risk assessment and incident response planning.
• Manage security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security).
• Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
• Lead and mentor the information security team and promote security awareness.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training for all employees.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to embed security into design and lifecycles.
• Manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers.
• Stay current with emerging threats and best practices.
